We met the modern way: on Hinge. Christine asked David to pick a first date spot in Manhattan, and with only one place he actually knew, he chose Jack Dempsey’s, a commuter Irish pub. It didn’t scream romance, but gave Christine a great laugh (eventually). We talked about types of lettuce (yes, really) and while it wasn’t the most thrilling topic, something clicked.

Our second date was at a cozy pizza spot called San Matteo, under a reservation in Christine’s friend’s name (long story). But from there, things just started to fall into place. We kept making time for each other, kept laughing, and found joy in silly nonsense. We also discovered a strange coincidence: both of us had dogs named Jax in our lives: David’s faithful sidekick, and Christine’s close friend’s pup.

On March 8, 2025, David got down on one knee at the John Lennon Memorial in Central Park, after convincing Christine she was simply headed to brunch with friends. To her joy (and surprise), she said YES! What Christine thought was the perfect proposal turned out to be just the beginning. David had arranged a photo shoot around Central Park to capture the excitement, and afterward, when Christine began calling her family with the news, no one picked up. Confused and a little flustered, she soon learned why: David had secretly planned a celebratory dinner at one of their favorite New York City restaurants, Campagnola, with Christine’s immediate family coming there to surprise her.

Overjoyed, Christine thought the night couldn’t get any better, but David had one more surprise in store. After dinner, the couple went for celebratory drinks, where some of Christine and David’s closest friends were gathered to toast to their engagement. It was truly the BEST NIGHT EVER, and one of the first steps on our perfect start to forever.

We’re getting married on March 7, 2026, and we can’t wait to celebrate with all the people who’ve shaped our story along the way.
